A community of faith
rooted in apostolic tradition
The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church traces its origins to the apostolic ministry of St. Thomas, one of the Twelve Apostles, who brought Christianity to India in A.D. 52. Today, the Church is in full communion with the other Oriental Orthodox Churches and has more than two million faithful worldwide.
St. Mary's Malankara Orthodox Church of Farmers Branch, Texas was established in 1973 as the first Malankara Orthodox worshipping community in the Dallas area, beginning with just seven families. Through God's grace and the faithful commitment of its parishioners, the parish has grown into a thriving community of more than 217 families.
For over fifty years, St. Mary's has remained committed to its mission of nurturing the spiritual life of the Malankara Orthodox faithful in the Dallas area through worship, education, youth and family ministries, charitable outreach, and community engagement.
